That’s one spectacular stone.
After arriving at the 2021 Venice Film Festival in slit-up-to-there Valentino couture, Zendaya changed into something even more eye-catching for Friday’s “Dune” premiere.
The 25-year-old actress and style superstar hit the red carpet in a wet-look leather Balmain gown that was custom-made using an exact model of her bust — but it was her choice of necklace that truly took the look over the top.
Zendaya wore a show-stopping necklace from Bulgari’s Magnifica high jewelry collection featuring a 93-carat, cabochon-cut Colombian emerald clasped in the jaw of a diamond- and emerald-encrusted snake.
“I met this emerald for the first time in Jaipur in 2018,” Lucia Silvestri, Bulgari’s creative director for jewelry, told the Telegraph in June.
“When I first saw the stone it was 98 carats and I spent a year convincing the supplier to recut it. Now it’s 93 carats, but it’s the perfect cabochon: the shape, the surface, it’s a piece of art.”
Per the outlet, the Magnifica collection is the most valuable in Bulgari’s history, and includes its largest gemstones yet. And it’s no surprise the jeweler would choose Zendaya to wear this particularly special piece, as she’s been an ambassador for the brand since early 2020.
While not quite as big as the 128.54-carat yellow Tiffany Diamond made famous by Audrey Hepburn, Lady Gaga and (most recently) Beyoncé, this serpentine stunner’s certainly nothing to snicker at.
